A day at The Wave

From first coffee to last light: an unhurried itinerary for a Saturday in New Cairo.

A day at The Wave

Times below are a way of thinking about the place, not opening hours. Those come with the opening date.

10:00, coffee on the terrace

Start upstairs, where the ribbons face east. The terrace catches the morning before the heat does. Order slowly.

12:30, the style edit

Walk the plaza floor while the light is high and the shopfronts are at their brightest. Camel, cream and a touch of green are the season’s colours, and ours.

17:00, golden hour on the steps

The plaza steps face west for a reason. This is the hour the building was drawn for, when the curves turn gold and everyone slows down.

20:30, dinner under the lights

After dark the balconies become lines of light. Dinner on the terrace, dessert on the steps, and the city glittering beyond South 90.

Save this for your weekend.

Designed to flow

A ribbon balcony on every floor, a stone portal on the street and a plaza of open-air terraces. The thinking behind the building.
